Harga emas naik pada awal perdagangan sesi AS hari Selasa karena munculnya laporan inflasi AS yang berikutnya yang sedikit lebih dingin daripada yang diperkirakan. Harga emas sempat menyentuh ketinggian selama tiga bulan di $1,788.90, sebelum akhirnya terkoreksi turun ke $1,770. Emas berjangka kontrak bulan Desember turun $0.90 ke $1,770.40 per troy ons. Sementara perak berjangka Comex bulan Desember turun $0.082 ke $21.585 per ons.
